Plac Zbawiciela is known as one of Warsaws most beautiful squares. The square is round, intersected with tramway rails, and very calm and peaceful.

Plac Zbawiciela is surrounded by houses with interesting architecture. Some have the character of brownstone buildings from the 60′s, others have strong arcades.

Plac Zamkowy Warsaw

Plac Zamkowy is the square of the castle with the “Kolumna Zygmunta” column, and is deemed to be the centre of Warsaw.

One side of the square leads down to the Vistula river, the other side to remains of the old city wall. Many restaurants with nice panorama views can be found there.

Plac Pilsudskiego is a large and empty square which is dedicated to Polands famous marshal who led his country into its independence in 1918.

Usually the square is used for major events. There is a “grave of the unknown soldier” in the Western part of Plac Pilsudskiego. This place should remember those people who fought and died for Poland. The grave is guarded by soldiers. The mounting of the guard takes place every Sunday at 12:00pm.

Plac Konstytucji Warsaw

This square has the typical socialistic character. Plac Konstytucji was dedicated to the Polish constitution.

The square is characterized by three giant candelabra, which look like monumental candle bearer. Huge archways show the paths to the side roads.

Plac Bankowy Square Warsaw

Plac Bankowy is the square of the banks. In the Western part is a classic building of the stock exchange from the 19th century. The frontage consists of two floors of arcades.

A blue mirror glass tower serves as architectonic lighthouse of the square. This building was Warsaws first important tower block after the slump of the Iron Curtain.

Another interesting building of the square is the Arsenal, which was a school for the army. Today you are going to find an archaeologic museum inside.
