Zamek Krolewski Kings Palace is located close to the Vistula river, and serves as a museum and memorial place of Polish history.

The palace was built in the period when the Polish capital was changed from Krakow to Warsaw. The king needed a new residence, and he gave the order to erect the kings palace of Zamek Krolewski out of the ruins of an older castle.

Only Europes best architects and master builders of those times were employed for the ambitious project. Most of them were Italians. The construction works took 20 years. The wishes and demands of the Polish king were quite high.

The palace was totally destroyed during the second world war. In 1971 the whole buillding was newly constructed.

Zamek Krolewski Kings Palace is a very important national symbol of Polish identity.
