Muzeum Techniki is the museum of Warsaw about technique. Important inventions and miracles of technics from all epochs of history are presented in the huge building, which was built under the leadership of Stalin.

Visitors are able to marvel about the decoding machine from the second world war, or the Polish creation of the “glassy lady”, who should demonstrate the functions of the human organism. There is also an artificial starlit sky in the planetarium, and a cinema, as well as a conference hall.

The museum called “Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego” is dedicated to the rising of the Poles against the German occupation during the second world war in 1944.

After the defeat of the Poles, Warsaw was completely destroyed. The museum was opened in 2004, on the 60th anniversary of the occurrence.

Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego uses multimedia techniques to demonstrate what was going on in those days. Radio broadcasts, movies, and modern simulations are included in the multimedia show.

The museum of posters called “Muzeum Plakatu w Wilanowie” is located directly next to the magnificent Wilamow castle in an old racing stable.

Muzeum Plakatu w Wilanowie is the first poster museum in Europe, and exists since 1968. The museum has a collection of more than 54.000 posters from Poland and abroad.

The meaning and basis of the museum can be found in the convincement that every single poster is a certain type of art.

The national museum in Warsaw is one of Polands biggest and most important. The construction works started in 1926, and had its focus on an architecture of the New Sobriety.

“Muzeum Narodowe” is the official name of the museum in Polish language. The pride of Warsaws national museum is a collection of paintings from famous artists like Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, Jacob Jordaens, and Lukas Cranach.

Mediaeval craftsmanship is another important part of the museum. Outstanding carve and stonecutter works from Silesian artists can be seen. Also different collections of coins displace the visitors in sceptical astonishment.

This museum is dedicated to the famous physicist Marie Curie, who was born in Poland, married a Frenchman, and moved to France.

She and her husband became famous as pioneers in the field of radioactivity research. Her birth house in Warsaw serves as her museum today.

Marie Curie was two times the winner of the Nobel Prize. The exhibition shows photos about her life, personal items, as well as notebooks, letters, and replicas of a reactor.

The interiors of Marie Curies birth house are still in the same style as in those days.

Muzeum Azji i Pacyfiku is Warsaws exotic museum, and preserves several thousands exhibits from Afghanistan, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Vietnam, Mongolia, and many other countries from Asia.

The museum presents traditional clothes and noble tableware from those countries. Some are more than 1.000 years old.
