Sirene is a monument made of bronze, and should symbolize the figure of Warsaws crest. The monument was created and positioned in 1850.

Sirene can be found on the market square “Rynek Starego Miasta”, and has a Roman character.

Kolumna Zygmunta is Warsaws oldest secular monument. The column exists since 1644, and can be found on the castles square.

The meaning of the monument is the remembrance of Polands change of its capital from Krakow to Warsaw in 1596.

Kolumna Zygmunta has a height of 22 metres. Tourists like the monument as the starting point for their Warsaw explorations.

Nicolaus Copernicus, in Poland known as “Mikolaja Kopernika”, is a popular and important historical character of Warsaw, althought he visited the city only a few times. Either way Polish people are very proud that his life’s journey was closely connection with their nation.

In 1830 a Danish culptur decided to make the Poles happy, and created a monument for Nicolaus Copernicus. It was placed infront of the Polish Academy of Science. Nicolaus Copernicus is sitting on a socket with a globe in his left hand.
