The new town of Warsaw is known as “Nowe Miasto”, and characterized by low houses, a cobblestone pavement, restaurants, city palaces, and churches. The new town was always the place of the craftsmen. This is the reason why the strorefronts are not that prestigious as in the old town. The old town of Warsaw was the home of the rich merchants.
The market square of the new town is not that new. This place already exists since more than 600 years. Nowe Miastos market square is popular as a very calm and melancholic place, and known as “Rynek Nowego Miasta”.
Warsaws new town is also the location of Marie Curies birth house. She was a famous physicist, and born in the Polish capital.
