The magnificent building of Galeria Zacheta gallery is located quite close to the grave of the unknown soldier, and impresses with a very spectacular architecture. The home of the gallery was built between 1899 and 1903 as headquater of the art club.
Galeria Zacheta is the biggest and most prestigious art gallery of Poland, and attracts with constantly new exhibitions of modern art. Works of famous artists from around the world are no rareness in Galeria Zacheta. The gallery owns 600 pictures and 2.600 graphics, drawings, etchings, and sculptures with a focus on the 60′s and 70′s of the last century.
Another interesting story about the gallery is that Polands first president was murdered there in 1922.
