Category: Eating and drinking in Warsaw – admin – 4:00 pm

Todays cuisine of Warsaw is characterized by a lot of influences from abroad, and traditional Polish meals. The city is full of international restaurants which offer dishes from around the world. Surveys confirm that Poles prefer to go to Italian and Mexican restaurants.

“Bar Mleczny” is the name of the typical Polish snack bar. Their origin can be found in the socialism. But as cheap and fast food is always popular and necessary, those simple canteens survived the change from socialism to capitalism without any problem. The prices of Bar Mleczny meals are unbeatable. One of the best snack bars in Warsaw is Rusalka (ul. Florianska 14) in the district of Praga.

Traditional and simple Polish dishes are pirogi, pork chops, potato fritters, dumplings, and pancakes.
