Nicolaus Copernicus Monument Warsaw

Nicolaus Copernicus, in Poland known as “Mikolaja Kopernika”, is a popular and important historical character of Warsaw, althought he visited the city only a few times. Either way Polish people are very proud that his life’s journey was closely connection with their nation.

In 1830 a Danish culptur decided to make the Poles happy, and created a monument for Nicolaus Copernicus. It was placed infront of the Polish Academy of Science. Nicolaus Copernicus is sitting on a socket with a globe in his left hand.
